Best Present for business presenter, a lector, for any Church catholic, Muslim, Jewish. (for 2 separate acoustic systems each of them can consist of one or more speakers). This mixer is also for collectors (and who knows, may for museums too) - perfect sample!!! For accurate specifications I advise you to use Yamaha website to see technical data because this site does not accept tables and those specification data here (at the bottom) are now without cells and could be relatively shifted and this can lead to some confusion or errors in understanding data, but I believe it is fine for general idea about this mixer. And talking about it as a present in this case when box is not sealed - opening unsealed box and finding item in a perfect new cosmetic and working conditions without any problem is, in my opinion, better than opening unknown sealed package and finding any even tiny problem with item. This mixer is for a business presenter, a lector, for any Church, for any amateur or professional musician of any style rock, country, classical guitar, keyboard, vocal, business presentations, etc. Who has taste in nice looking equipment, or who performs for those who have preferences in nice looking performers and theirs musical instruments and sound equipment, who feel and understand difference. And it is almost impossible now to find EMX512SC mixer-amp in a perfect new condition like this one - it is not made anymore. And current new models look terrible, already not talking about that they are not user friendly: there is difficulty in manual control [your arm can't reach front panel from sides because of side rails, now only from front (you have to shift yourself to side or to bend your arm at right angle) or from top/bottom]. You can use this mixer to combine signals from 8 different audio analog mono and stereo sources (by the way, today's current models have absolutely the same configuration of 8 independent input channels, but trickily named them as 12-inputs probably because of counting also some channels' additional connectors also presenting at this EMX512SC model): microphones for vocals or for acoustic/classical guitars (including with phantom power), electric guitars, base guitars, keyboards, etc. Or other not special musical equipment computers, laptops, CD players, cassette players, Reel-to-Reel tape players, DVD and video cassette players (for audio signal only), or any recorders with output analog signals including cell phones, etc...

It combines them together, aligns each, applies internal or external effects, and sends to 2 separate amplifiers with controlled output power up to max 500 watts each (a total huge 1000 watts, but you can align it for using at any lower output power starting from even a few watts or so). But all home speakers need specific connectors at the end of their wires to be connected to amplifier and I can throw in 2 (two) NEW such high quality SPEAKER connectors (Switchcraft) for free if you request them immediately after you bought this mixer.

By the way, all modern powered mixers as well as amplifiers have the same requirements in connectors. If you have questions about that I can explain that to you, it is not complicated. Besides that if you still don't have speakers for that then I can consult you about best options depending on your application, choices are from current new and old good sounding speakers systems new models are not always better than old ones, i. It is the same story as with mixers-amplifiers, and probably with everything else too. And don't forget that besides my word also Yamaha's quality stands behinds that mixer.

It does not have any mechanical parts which usually are weak spots of equipment, except knobs and potentiometers, but because mixer is new there is nothing to worry about because all their lifetimes are untouched - they are in perfectly new condition as well as internal electronics - it was never dropped, never inappropriately stored, never abused technically (including inappropriate power conditions - too high, too low, or disappearing power voltage), or by inadequate or unqualified operators; never had spilled liquid accidents, never worked at inappropriate environment conditions (smoked room, high temperature, high humidity, outside at freezing temperature, or rain, dusty or salty sea winds), never worked in overloaded mode or even in regular mode, but for too long time; never was or worked at road; never overheated, etc. Just one word covers all that - NEW! This is my personal mixer-amp which I bought a few years ago hoping to organize a band of amateurs-musicians, but time was passing and my plan was not realized (in many reasons). It is just sitting there and reminds me about my unrealized plan (actually I have a lot of plans, but not enough time for everything). So, counting my circumstances and age I've decided to remove this unfair reminding about my plan and to concentrate on my more important tasks. Actually I already was thinking to sell it a couple of times, but my hand could not rise to do that because it is wonderful machine even if you don't use it.

Again, I bought it a few years ago at Sam Ash store (s/n UCCQX01253, I still have a receipt) in NY and right after paying for that I opened it right at the store for checking its cosmetic and partially working conditions and I advise you always to do the same disregarding any sales persons' assuring that item is new and fine and you can return it at any time during 30 days - in that case you have to visit them again if you did not lose receipt, but now if something is wrong you return it immediately and in 5 minutes they will bring you a new one, what is much less painful. Besides, a sealed box does not always guarantee a new item - it can be open box, refurbished, etc.

I don't want to know what else. So, it was really new and did not have any cosmetic blemishes and after arriving to home I've tested everything possible on this unit - from inputs, knobs, switches, effects, etc. To output power on each channel. Everything was fine with pure clear sound from havens; sound is excellent even for home stereo too.

Actually, as I know, Yamaha puts such kind of electronics on burn-in test for a few hours, so if something could fail it would fail at factory, not at customer possession - means there was no much sense for me to test it at home, but anyway - my unit was not under statistics anymore, it was in my possession now. So, I packed it back to its original box with pleasant feeling that there is no problem and it is ready for work, but work for me did not happen. I hope it will work well for you. And today, December 5 2017, feeling my responsibility I repeated the same nonsense - I tested it again, and of course everything was fine, the same as a few years ago. Also at one photo you can even see working "Overloading" red indication on both channels at extremely high output power.

But anyway, please, don't do that without sharp necessity to save human life and if you do that make sure box is cross-tape-wrapped (so that foam will not come out) and there is no objects on the pavements where it will land. POWER VOLTAGE Please note that this Yamaha mixer works only with 115 Volts AC (USA standard).
